Alan Duncan has substantial experience in trying cases in both the state and federal courts in North Carolina and in other jurisdictions.  He has significant trial experience including litigating intellectual property and antitrust issues, business and commercial cases, catastrophic injury cases, professional malpractice actions, media and communications law matters, aviation issues, and insurance and reinsurance law-related issues.

Mr. Duncan is also a member of the Supreme Court of the United States, Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Ninth and D.C. Circuits, and various federal district courts, including the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina.
