Sanders Carter's practice is devoted to the representation of life, health and disability insurance companies in litigation.  Mr. Carter has been lead counsel in a variety of actions against insurers, including discriminatory underwriting claims, employment discrimination actions, claims under ERISA, RICO, and the ADA, claims for breach of fiduciary duties, class actions, and claims to recover life, health, disability and accidental death benefits.  His practice is conducted in the federal and state courts throughout Georgia and in other southeastern states where he has been admitted pro hac vice.

Mr. Carter is the editor of DRI ERISA Report, and is the former editor of Life, Health and Disability News, the newsletter of the Defense Research Institute's Life, Health and Disability Committee.

He has spoken on ERISA and managed healthcare issues at numerous seminars, including those sponsored by the American Conference Institute, the Defense Research Institute, the Eastern Claims Conference, the Southern Claims Conference, and the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education.  Mr. Carter has written on life, health and disability insurance and ERISA issues in publications of the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.
