Jeff Whitley is an associate in the litigation practice, focusing on complex commercial and business disputes. He has assisted a variety of business and entities in prosecuting or defending commercial claims, including breach of contract, employment litigation, unfair competition, fraud, and landlord/tenant disputes involving lease defaults and rent collection. 

Jeff has a particular focus on professional liability and fiduciary duty cases in the corporate, partnership, and LLC context.  Jeff’s practice also addresses the unique aspects of the healthcare industry, allowing him to assist health care providers  in cases involving specialized contract disputes, employment issues, billing and insurance disputes, and medical negligence claims.  Jeff also has experience defending businesses in class action lawsuits.  Through each of these types of cases, Jeff has represented clients in North Carolina state and federal courts, the Court of Appeals, and North Carolina’s specialized Business Court.

Jeff graduated from Florida State University and Duke University School of Law. While in law school, he participated in multiple oral advocacy competitions as a member of the moot court board and co-authored a congressional white paper on the legal barriers to the interstate practice of telemedicine.

Prior to attending law school, Jeff gained a variety of experience as a disability adjudicator, a community coordinator for a non-profit organization, and a professional musician.
